A Sworn Translator is a translator who has taken an oath and is legally competent.
A Sworn Translator eis appointed by a committee sitting in the Court of Appeal and is a member of the official list of legal translators. They are qualified to translate in court hearings and at French administrative meetings and their signature certifies that the translated text is a true copy of the original and is legally binding.
